Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's hockey team beat a pair of top five nationally-ranked teams and made their first SUNYAC playoff appearance under third year Head Coach Kalie Hart during the 2024-25 campaign.

The Roos started their season off with a bang earning the highest ranked victory of any of SUNY Canton's sports in school history when they defeated No. 2 nationally-ranked Adrian on the road 1-0 in OT on November 1st. Sophomore Abby Seaman recorded a 42 save shutout in her debut with the Roos and classmate Riley Andzel scored the game-winner 1 minute, 44 seconds into overtime of the thrilling win.

The team earned their second top five win in a two-week span when they defeated No. 5/4 nationally-ranked Cortland 2-1 at home during Hockey Reunion Weekend. Sophomore Joey Schemenauer and freshman Bailey Cote each scored a goal and sophomore Molly Lenihan made 41 saves in the victory.
