Fun Facts
Career Ambition: Physical Therapist
What is a Little-Known Fact About Yourself? I have played every position in hockey, including goalie.
Who is Your Personal Hero/Idol and Why? My dad. He was the one who agreed for me to play hockey at the age of nine when I asked and was excited to teach me. My dad coached me from the age of nine until around 15, and he taught me so much about the game of hockey. I do not think that I would still be in hockey today if my dad hadn’t had such an impact on me, and if he was not one of my biggest supporters. Away from the rink, my dad also supports me with everything that I do, and does his best to help out where I can. He is a very motivated individual, and seeing how motivated he is makes me want to be the same or even more motivated than him.

Why Did You Chose SUNY Canton: To be able to focus equally on my academics as well as athletics. I also really enjoyed the guaranteed small class sizes, and how close everyone within the community is.
What Do You Like Most About SUNY Canton: I really like the small class sizes. I find I learn better in that type of environment rather than big lecture halls. I also like that we have a rink on campus so that my teammates and I do not have to commute to an outside rink for practices and home games.
Who is Your Favorite SUNY Canton Professor and Why? Dr. McDonald in the PTA faculty. She is almost like a mom away from home. She always makes sure that each student succeeds and reaches their full potential in each class whether it is a skills lab, or a lecture class. Dr. McDonald always has open arms whether you need to talk about classes, sports, or outside life. She is always very forgiving and comforting, making her my favorite professor.
What do you like most about your sports team/coach at SUNY Canton: I love that my hockey team is very close and are able to do things as a team outside of the rink, whether it is a team dinner, going on outings to places like Fobare’s, etc. Everyone is always there for each other, and I know that I will always have someone to lean on. Coaches are also there for each one of their players and welcomes us into their offices with open arms. They both make sure to get to know each of us away from the rink, and make the rink feel like a home away from home, which is very special to have.
