Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's hockey team and Head Coach Kalie Hart have announced the program's 2026-27 schedule. The Roos will play a 25 game regular season schedule that features 14 home games in their fourth season in the SUNYAC.
 
Following a pair of exhibitions, the Roos open the regular season with a stiff test hosting a pair of perennial top 10 nationally-ranked opponents in Nazareth (10/30) and Elmira (10/31). The Golden Flyers (27-2-1) made it all the way to the national championship game last season before falling 4-0 to No. 1 ranked Wisconsin-River Falls, while Elmira (20-6-2) earned a spot in a national quarterfinal game. The Roos visits MCLA the following weekend (11/6-7) before opening SUNYAC play on the road at Buffalo State (11/13) and William Smith (11/14).
 
The team hosts perennial top 10 Plattsburgh in their league home opener on November 20, followed by hosting Potsdam the following afternoon. The team welcomes Utica to Terry Martin Arena the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Canton wraps up the 2026 portion of its schedule with a home-and-home series with St. John Fisher as they travel to Rochester on December 4 and host the Cardinals the following afternoon (12/5).
   
 
The Roos kick off the 2027 portion of their slate with four more non-conference games, three of which are at home against Alvernia (1/2-3) and Hamilton (1/12), with a January 6 trip to Utica.
 
The team's final 10 games come within league play as Canton hosts second semester SUNYAC contests against Oswego (1/29), Cortland (2/12), Morrisville (2/13), William Smith (2/19) and Buffalo State (2/20), as the Roos play the final four games of the regular season at home.
 
Second semester league road games include trips to Morrisville (1/22), Cortland (1/23), Oswego (1/30), Potsdam (2/5) and Plattsburgh (2/6).
 
The Roos will look to qualify for their third straight SUNYAC Tournament. The No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will host the No. 6 and No. 5 seeds, respectively, in first round games on February 24. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds earn first round byes and will host semifinal contests on February 27 with the highest remaining seed hosting the SUNYAC Championship on March 6. The winner of the SUNYAC Tournament earns the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
