The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will strive to ensure equality and success for all student-athletes, both academically and athletically while promoting unity and school pride.
Purpose:
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee was formed with the purpose to:
* Promote communication between athletic administration and student-athletes
*Provide feedback and insight into athletic department issues and generate a student-athlete voice within the campus athletic department formulation of policies
*Provide insight into the student-athlete experience at SUNY Canton
*Promote and encourage all student-athletes towards the pursuit of excellence in the classroom and the pursuit of excellence in athletics
*Foster and promote the ideals of sound character in concert with the NCAA CHAMPS / Life Skills Program and the SUNY Canton Student-Athlete Code of Conduct
*Build a sense of community, spirit and pride among all athletic teams and within the general student population and faculty/staff
*Foster and promote the ideal of civic responsibility and civic service through community service projects and initiatives within the local community
*Create a vehicle for student-athlete representation on campus-wide committees (e.g. student government)
*Promote a positive student-athlete image on and off campus
