Canton, NY – The women's volleyball team competed in 29 matches in their second season in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) during the 2025 season.
The team picked up their
first win of the season at SUNY Delhi on September 6 behind a balanced attack that saw four players combine for 21 kills.
The Roos earned their
first sweep of the season behind a nine kill, five block performance from
Abby Raven against VTSU Johnson on September 12 at home. Canton earned another straight set win the next day against Cobleskill
behind 17 kills from
Emerson Coulter.
Canton continued its strong play with a third sweep in the span of four matches at home, this time against Paul Smith's on September 17.
Madison Bigelow and
McKenna Pelech led the offense with nine and eight kills, respectively, in the win.
The Roos extended their streak with their third straight win in a 3-1 victory against Utica on September 19. Coulter tallied 17 kills, while
Brooke Hite and
Isabella Cruz registered 11 each in the
offensive outburst. The team concluded play at the Oswego Tournament that same weekend with a
thrilling five set victory against Keuka behind 25 combined kills from Coulter and
Tionna Edghill.
The Roos earned a split at the SUNY Poly Tri-Match on September 27 as Coulter, Hite and Cruz combined for 41 kills in the
win against the Wildcats. Canton picked up its first road SUNYAC win outlasting Plattsburgh in a five set thriller on October 11. Coulter struck for a career-best 19 kills hitting .385 (19-4-39).
During the season Coulter was named the SUNYAC Offensive Athlete of the Week (9/15). Following the season
Daycee Bane, Coulter, Hite and Pelech were honored on the
College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for their combined efforts on the court and in the classroom.
Coulter paced the Roos with 328 points, 271 kills (2.88/set), 309 digs, 43 aces (0.46/set) while hitting a team-best .189. Bane led the defense averaging 3.39 digs per set while Raven supplied 54 blocks (0.52/set).
Lauren Norman and
Nadia Frigon were the team's two setters registering 431 (4.14/set) and 360 (3.56/set) assists, respectively.
The Roos are expected to lose
Kiley Zicari, Hite and Bane to graduation.
