Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team is set to get its season under way on Wednesday, February 25 under first-year Head Coach Cam Talcott. The Roos 2026 roster couples 14 returners with 10 newcomers.
The team opens the season tonight, February 25, against VTSU Castleton at 7 p.m. in a game played at St. Lawrence. The Roos host SUNY Poly in their home opener on March 7 before three straight road games at Alfred (3/18), at Hilbert (3/21) and opening SUNYAC play at Cortland (3/28). The Roos 2026 roster features 24 players with 14 returners coupled with 10 newcomers. The Roos return four of their top six scorers from a season ago.
Jonney Mclear is the top returning scorer after posting 28 points on 22 goals and six assists during his rookie season.
Michael Newcomb is back for his senior season after posting 10 goals and three assists, while
Charles Grandaw (8G-1A-9P) and
Eli Bullock (4G-5A-9P) are also back for the Roos.
The team welcomes back goalie
Hayden Todd who started all 13 games for the team last season recording a .486 save % making 207 saves on the season. Todd currently has 546 career saves and is closing in on the Roos D-III era career saves mark.

Holden Hewlett will captain the 2026 men's lacrosse team.
Canton welcomes 10 newcomers to the roster that includes one sophomore and nine freshmen who are listed below in numerical order.
