SEASON PREVIEW: Women’s Lacrosse Opens Season Saturday at Alfred State

Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team is set to get its season under way on Saturday, February 28 under Head Coach Adam Todd. The Roos 2026 roster couples nine returners with nine newcomers.
 
The team is scheduled to open 2026 with a pair of road games at Alfred State (2/28) and SUNY Poly (3/4) before hosting Russell Sage (3/7). During their spring break week, the team will travel to Pennsylvania for games against Carroll and Neumann. The Roos open SUNYAC play on March 21 at New Paltz and host Oswego in their SUNYAC home opener on March 31. To view the full schedule release, click HERE.
 
The Roos 2026 roster features 18 players with nine returners coupled with nine newcomers. Caroline Nappi is the team's top returning scorer from a season ago where she registered 22 goals and seven assists. Sydney Dunn will serve as the team's lone captain after caging eight goals last season. Sienna Hillicke is also back after registering three goals and four assists last season.
 
Laura Falandys is the lone returner in goal where she started four of the eight contests she appeared in last season. She recorded a 4-1 record with an 8.63 goals against average and .481 save %.
   
The team welcomes nine newcomers to the roster in nine freshmen in the form of five defenders, two midfielders, an attacker and a goalie.  They are listed below in numerical order.

The Roos have been picked to finish seventh in their second season in the SUNYAC in a vote of the league's 10 head coaches. SUNY Canton received 31 points in the poll and is ahead of Potsdam (29), Plattsburgh (23) and Morrisville. Oswego was picked to defend their championship with 78 points, while Cortland (76), New Paltz (63) and Oneonta (53) rounded out the top four.
