Canton, NY – The men's soccer team competed in 19 matches during the 2025 season in their second season in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
The Roos picked up their first win of the season
defeating Empire 8 foe SUNY Poly 2-1 in non-conference action on September 3rd.
Markel Mosley and
Hayden Brimelow scored first half goals in the victory.
Canton picked up a
1-1 draw against Norwich on September 16th behind nine saves from
Joey Raap and a
Chris Escobar goal.
The Roos added another non-conference win on the road on September 24th as they
upended Keuka 2-0 behind tallies from Brimelow and Mosley.
Jon Bovair recorded a four save clean sheet in goal.
Canton's biggest win of the season came when they earned their
first ever SUNYAC victory and first ever win against Potsdam in the D-III era defeating the Bears 2-0 behind a seven save shutout from Raap and goals from Escobar and
Demetrius Blake Jr.
Mosley led the team with eight points and four goals, while Blake Jr. and
Owen Lebron registered a team-best three assists each with Blake also scoring once. Brimelow and Escobar tallied two goals apiece.
In net Raap, Bovair and
Jason Vela supplied one win each with Raap (.747) and Vela (.724) leading the team in save %.
During the season Raap was named the SUNYAC Defensive Athlete of the Week once (10/14).
The Roos are expected to lose Bovair, Escobar, Brimelow, Lebron,
Foster Hutchins,
Eric Randall,
Lleyton LaDue,
Miles Haak,
Ethan Burke,
Nathan Springer and
Mason Holmes to graduation.
