Roos Wrap Season Against Hawks

New Paltz, NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer team completed their season on the road Saturday afternoon, dropping a 5-0 decision to SUNY New Paltz.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Ryan Zindler opened the scoring for the Hawks in the 12th minute, booting a low shot past sophomore Joey Rapp to give New Paltz the 1-0 lead.  Alex Wyant earned the assist.
  • The Hawks held a 2-0 advantage when Wyant placed the ball past Rapp in the low right corner in the 25th minute.
  • David Lamour converted a penalty kick in the 61st minute and New Paltz tacked on two additional goals late to give the Hawks the 4-0 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • The Hawks had the advantage in shots (13-6), shots on goal (7-1) and corner kicks (6-1).
  • Senior Owen Lebron and sophomore David Bermeo led the way for the Roos with two shots each, Lebron had the lone shot on goal.
  • Rapp finished the game with two saves.  Matt Katz made one save in 76 minutes for New Paltz with Joe Washington finishing the final 14 minutes without a save.
