Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer program and Head Coach Tim Penrod have announced their upcoming schedule for the 2026 season, the Roos third season in the SUNYAC.
 
The Roos will compete in 18 matches with eight home games and eight matches coming vs. SUNYAC institutions. After three home scrimmages in August against Clinton Community College (8/22), Paul Smith's (8/25) and North Country Community College (8/27), SUNY Canton opens the regular season at home on opening night (9/1) against Utica.
 
The team hits the road for its next three matches at Bard (9/5) at SUNY Poly (9/6) at St. Lawrence (9/9), at Sarah Lawrence (9/12) and at Norwich (9/15) before opening SUNYAC play on September 18 at league newcomer Delhi.
 
After 18 straight days without a home contest the Roos return home on September 20 for a non-conference clash with VTSU Castleton. Canton's four-game homestand continues with a midweek non-league match with Clarkson (9/23) before returning to SUNYAC play with home tilts against Cobleskill (9/26) and Oneonta (9/30).
   
 
The team kicks off October with back-to-back non-league games, the first at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (10/2) followed by a Tuesday (10/6) home match against Union. The final five games of the regular season all come within SUNYAC play and include a pair of home games against Cortland (10/10) and Potsdam (10/21) and three road tilts at Plattsburgh (10/14), Oswego (10/17) and Morrisville (10/24).
 
The Roos will look to qualify for their first SUNYAC Tournament. With the addition of Alfred State, Cobleskill and Delhi to the league this year, the top eight teams in the conference standings qualify for the playoffs with the top two seeds earning double byes hosting semifinals on November 4.
 
The fifth and sixth seeds will host the eighth and seventh seeds, respectively, in first round games on October 28. The third and fourth seeds will host second round games on October 31. The SUNYAC championship will take place on November 7 at the highest remaining seed.
