Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team is schedule to open its 2019 season on Thursday when it visits Clarkson University at 4 p.m. The Roos will play 15 total contests in their first season in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC).
Head Coach
Pat Harrington's roster will feature 28 players with 19 returners and nine newcomers. The team is coming off an NCAA D-III era school record 11 win season in 2018 that saw it earn its second Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament berth in school history and its first win v. rival SUNY Potsdam.
The Roos return
Josh Yelvington and
Dante Coco who posted 49 (41-8) and 44 (42-12) points, respectively, a season ago.

The team's nine newcomers include six midfielders, and one attacker, defenseman and goalie, all of which are freshmen except one. Freshman defenseman
Blaze Benedict is a big, strong, fast player with a great stick and game sense who Coach Harrington expects to make an immediate impact on the defense this season. Freshman attack
Hunter Olsen is a very talented and skilled offensive player with a high lacrosse IQ. Freshman Midfielder
Noah Robinson is a big, strong player with great vision and stick skills from growing up playing box lacrosse and the team has high expectations for him in his first season.
Freshman goalie
Parker Hornung had a great career at St. Lawrence Central and is very smart goalie with quick hands and the ability to push the ball up field. High school teammate
Eli Kocsis is a very big, fast and strong midfielder who will factor into both ends of the field and be a big part of the team's transition game. Coach Harrington expects freshman
Noel Abreu to push to be a go-to face-off specialist this season. Lastly, freshman
Jordan Amezquita is a very good athlete and smart defensive midfielder who will play a good part in our D-middie group.
