Men’s Hockey to Host Cancer Awareness Game v. Rivier February 11th

Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's hockey team will be holding a cancer awareness game in honor of four of its players who lost a parent to the awful disease.

On February 11th the Roos will take on Rivier University at 7 p.m. Leading up to the game the team will field donations to the Cancer Research Institute online. Before and during the game the team will also field donations towards the Nikki Deblasiis Foundation (mother of Gino Deblasiis), and will also be selling Nikki Deblasiis Foundation hats. The program will also have a table set up for a silent auction of four jerseys the team will be wearing during the game. All proceeds will go towards the Nikki Deblasiis Foundation.

Next Friday's game will honor the four players and their families who lost their loved ones recent to cancer: Teresa Jakobsson (breast cancer, 2014), Nikki Lynn DeBlasiis (renal cell carcinoma, 2017), Barbara Austin Diamond (breast cancer, 2019) and Michelle Jennifer Morris (gastric cancer, 2017).

The team, their student-athletes and families appreciate your support in raising money and awareness for cancer.
