Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team is primed for another playoff run under 13th year head coach and 2019 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Coach of the Year,
Pat Harrington.
The Roos have been voted to finish in a tie for second place in a vote of the league's nine head coaches. SUNY Canton is tied with SUNY Delhi with 65 total points in the poll. SUNY Poly was voted to defend their title finishing with 78 total points and seven first place votes. Delhi received the other two first place nods. Husson University and Maine Maritime Academy were picked to tie for fourth place (50 points).
SUNY Canton's schedule features 14 total contests with five home games and eight conference contests. The team kicks off their season on Wednesday (2/23) at Clarkson. Their home opener is set for March 5th v. Castleton and the team's league opener is March 12th v. SUNY Delhi. The NAC semifinal is scheduled for April 29th with the NAC championship two days later (5/1), both of which are hosted by the No. 1 seed. To view the full schedule release, click

SUNY Canton returns 10 players from a season ago. Seniors
Hunter Olsen,
Noel Abreu and
Chris McCann will serve as team captains. Olsen, the 2021 NAC Player of the Year, led the Roos in goals (23), assists (19) and points (42) last season. He was joined last season on the First Team All-Conference by midfielder
Noah Robinson, the 2019 NAC Rookie of the Year. Robinson was third on the team in points with 20 on 11 goals and nine assists.
Overall, Canton returns six of its top seven scorers from last season as they also welcome back
Trent Dow (10G, 8A, 18P),
Kyle Fingar (15G, 2A, 17P),
Zack LaFave (9G, 7A, 16P) and
Carter Pooler (2G, 1A, 3P).
SUNY Canton returns one goalie in Ogdensburg native
Nick Snyder who appeared in three games last year.
The team welcomes 15 new student-athletes to the roster in four sophomores and 11 freshmen.
