2020 Senior Spring Spotlight: Dante Coco

Dante Coco is a senior midfielder on the men's lacrosse team. This piece is part of a series of Q & A's with senior spring student-athletes who saw their senior seasons cut short due to COVID-19.

Q: Why did you choose SUNY Canton?
A: I chose SUNY Canton because it was one of the only places where I could play lacrosse and pursue an engineering degree. I also liked the fact that it was far from home back in CT.

Q: Favorite professor and why?
A: My favorite professor at Canton has probably been Dr. Craig in the mechanical department. He's easily taught most of my courses here and he really is a great teacher. I learn better in his classes than any of my others.

Q: Favorite memory involving your sport at Canton?
A: My favorite memory involving my sport at Canton will always be beating Potsdam for the first time in program history my sophomore year. It was one of the most energizing games I've ever played in.

Q: Favorite Non-Sports Memory?
A: I truly can't pick just one memory from my time at Canton. They're all equally important to my time at the college.

Q: What will you miss most about SUNY Canton?
A: The thing I'll miss most about Canton is the people I've met during my four years here (or should I say three and half). I've made a lot of lifelong friends and it's truly been my home away from home.

Q: Degree you will be graduating with?
A: I'll be graduating with my Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Q: Future career/life plans?
A: I currently have a job lined up for Electric Boat in New London, CT as a Mechanical Engineer. I hope to work there long enough to save up and move somewhere warm.
