New London, CT – The SUNY Canton men's hockey team scored both of their goals on special teams dropping a 5-2 decision to host Connecticut College Saturday evening.
 
Five of the seven scores on the night came from special team units as the Roos (2-10-1) overcame a two-goal first period deficit to tie it up, but three unanswered scores for the hosts earned them the victory.
 
The Camels (2-8-0) got on the board at the 8:34 mark of the first period when Mike Sinsigalli scored his third goal of the season on the power play. Two minutes later Connecticut added an even strength score to make it 2-0.
 
SUNY Canton responded at the 13:30 mark on the power play when Cory Giczewski (Fountain Valley, CA) lit the lamp for his team-leading sixth tally of the season off passes from J.R. Lafferty (Williamstown, NJ) and Dave Schneider (Indianapolis, IN). Kristian Leach (Indianapolis, IN) came up huge at the 16:22 mark when he netted an unassisted short-handed goal, his fourth of the season, to make it 2-2 after one period.   
 
After playing a majority of the second stanza without a goal Jeff Celniker earned the eventual game-winner 15:18 into the frame when he beat Roo goaltender Morgan Barr (Almonte, ON). Steve Servideo and JC Cangelosi added power play scores for the Camels leading to the 5-2 final.
 
SUNY Canton went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Connecticut was 3-for-8 with the skater advantage. Mike Petchonka made 18 saves in the win for the Camels, while Barr turned aside 30 shots for the Roos.
