Seven SUNY Canton Hockey Players Honored by ECHL

(Canton, N.Y.)- Seven members of the SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team have received postseason honors by the Eastern Collegiate Hockey League.

Senior defenseman Scott Zaryski (Oswego, N.Y.) was named to the all-ECHL First Team and junior forward Eric Cook (Cary, N.C.) was named to the Second Team.

Freshman defenseman Brad Wilson (Ottawa, Ontario) was named Rookie of the Year  and he was joined on the all-Rookie team by freshman forward Corey Frizell (Orleans, Ontario).

Senior forward Mark Talamo (Oswego, N.Y.), freshman defenseman Chris Giczewski (Fountain Valley, Calif.) and freshman forward John Payne (Port Moody, B.C.) were named ECHL Academic All-Stars.

Zaryski led all SUNY Canton defensemen and is fifth in scoring with 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points.  He had five power play goals and two game-winners.

Cook had 20 goals and 12 assists for 32 points.  He led the team with seven power play goals and and had two game-winning goals.

Wilson is second to Zaryski with nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points.  He had four power play goals and one game-winner.

Frizell is second on the team in scoring with 11 goals and 28 assists for 39 points.
