(Canton, N.Y.)- Adam Fedor (Orleans, Ontario) scored his second overtime goal in as many days as SUNY Canton beat Niagara 5-4 in overtime Saturday at the Canton Pavilion to sweep the weekend series. The Roos won their fourth straight game and are now 7-1 in the Eastern Collegiate Hockey League and 8-7 overall.
Fedor netted the game-winner Friday night in a 4-3 overtime win and had a hand in three of the Roos five goals on Saturday. The Roos are now 3-1 in overtime games this season.
Saturday's game went back and forth as the Purple Eagles were able to answer each time the Roos took the lead.
SUNY Canton led 2-1 after the first period behind goals from Corey Frizell (Orleans, Ontario) and Eric Cook (Cary, N.C.).
After Niagara scored early in the second period, Cook scored to again put the Roos up by one. Niagara came back and tied the game with 3:35 left in the second period.
Fedor gave the Roos their fourth lead of the night at the 12:02 mark of the third period. The Purple Eagles Kevin Morrison tied the game for the final time with 2:33 left in regulation setting up Fedor's overtime heroics.
Fedor finished with two goals and an assist. Frizell added two assists and Scott Zaryski (Oswego, N.Y.) assisted on Fedor's goal in overtime.
Jimmy Merrow (Plainsboro, N.J.) stopped 13 of 17 shots for the Roos.
Patrick Jankowski had 24 saves for Niagara.
