SUNY Canton’s Fifth Athletics Giving Week a Huge Success

2025 ATHLETICS GIVING WEEK RESULTS

Canton, NY – SUNY Canton Athletics raised over $116,000 with nearly 1,100 total gifts contributed to its fifth annual Athletics Giving Week. This campaign, which was guided and conducted in conjunction with the Canton College Foundation, recently concluded March 28th and was a resounding success.

SUNY Canton's fifth Athletics Giving Week resulted in 1,078 donations and $116,132 raised for the Athletics department and its teams. SUNY Canton would like to personally thank all its donors who made this fifth Athletics Giving Week more exciting and successful than anyone expected.

"I'm proud of our campus community, student-athletes, coaches, alumni, parents, and friends for coming together to make this year's Athletics Giving Week another record-breaking success," said Assistant Director of Development Sara Hartman-Richards '01. "Once again, we exceeded our goals, and the impact of these collective efforts will be felt for years to come. Athletics Giving Week is one of the largest annual campaigns for the Canton College Foundation, and its continued growth is a testament to the generosity and dedication of our supporters. We're also incredibly thankful for the support of our Athletic Communication and Public Relations teams for their hard work behind the scenes in collaboration with the Canton College Foundation Team."

"A special thank you to our generous sponsors—St. Lawrence FCU, Howland Pump, North Country Savings Bank, Shipwreck'd, Pepsi-Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers, and The Canton Knights of Columbus—for their invaluable support," Hartman said.

The women's basketball team had the most total gifts with 159 edging out women's soccer (158) and women's hockey (154). Men's soccer (128) and men's hockey (118) rounded out the top five.

The top five for total dollars raised included men's hockey ($52,252), women's hockey ($13,469), men's soccer ($6,516), women's basketball ($6,486), and women's soccer ($5,355).

"For the fifth straight year, we've been amazed at the incredible support for the SUNY Canton Athletics Giving Week," Director of Athletics Randy B. Sieminski said. "I'm particularly proud of the amazing generosity and support from our own student-athletes and their families supporting themselves and each other in order to maximize their college experiences. So many fantastic alumni, friends, supporters, community members and local businesses once again came together to support our teams and our student-athletes. We can't thank them enough."
