McRobbie-Taru, Sasenbury, Beal & Stoll Earn Weekly SUNYAC Honors

Syracuse, NY – Kat McRobbie-Taru, Spencer Sasenbury, Lucy Beal and Taylor Stoll all earned SUNYAC weekly accolades for their performances on their respective playing surfaces last week. McRobbie-Taru was named the SUNYAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week, Sasenbury was tabbed the SUNYAC Men's Hockey Rookie of the Week, and Beal and Stoll were recognized as the Women's Hockey Athlete and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

McRobbie-Taru averaged 17.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 assists per game leading the Roos to an unbeaten start to the season with wins against Franciscan and Delhi. She tied a career-high with 24 points and added 11 rebounds shooting 12-for-23 from the field to go with five blocks, two steals and an assist in an 86-70 win against Franciscan on Friday. The sophomore followed that up with 10 points, five rebounds and two assists in a 95-51 win against Delhi on Sunday.
 


Sasenbury scored a pair of goals including the game-winner, in a 4-1 road win at Elmira on Saturday. The rookie gave Canton a 2-0 lead at 8:21 of the second period. He later extended the Roos lead to 3-0 scoring shorthanded in an eventual 4-1 win vs. the Soaring Eagles. The rookie also went 26-for-57 on faceoffs on the weekend and is tied for second on the team with his two goals on the season through four games.
 


Beal recorded a team-best seven points with seven assists and a +4 on-ice rating leading the Roos to a weekend sweep against MCLA. She opened the weekend with a game-high four points assisting four of the team's first six goals, with three of those assists being primary assists, in a 9-0 win against the Trailblazers on Friday. The senior closed out the weekend with another game-high three points registering assists on three of the team's five scores in a 5-0 win against MCLA on Saturday.  Through games played Saturday (11/8) Beal leads the SUNYAC with eight assists and ranks second with eight points.
 


Stoll had a big weekend scoring three goals, recording a +3 on-ice rating and going a remarkable 27-for-30 on faceoffs leading the Roos to a weekend sweep against MCLA. She opened the weekend with a pair of goals, her first collegiate scores, in a 9-0 win against the Trailblazers on Friday, while also going 15-for-16 on faceoffs. Stoll followed that up by scoring another goal and going 12-for-14 on faceoffs in a 5-0 win against MCLA on Saturday. Through four games the rookie ranks second on the team with three goals and has gone 40-for-54 on faceoffs.
