Canton, NY – Kristian Johnson, a junior on the men's cross country team, and
Brielle Smith, a freshman on the women's cross country team, have been named this week's Roos of the Week.
Johnson ran a season best time at the Word of Life Huskies Cross Country Meet on Saturday to finish in fourth place out of 45 racers. He covered the 8-kilometer course in 28:50, averaging 5:56 per mile over the nearly five mile course. The time was just 27 seconds off his career best at the distance. The men finished in third place, their top team performance of the season.
Smith paced the Canton women's cross country team running a season best time of 27:22 at the Word of Life Huskies Cross Country Meet on Saturday. She placed eighth individually out of 31 runners individually averaging 7:49 minute miles over the 6-kilometer course.
