Amherst, MA – Kristian Johnson and
Jenna Leshkevich led the SUNY Canton men's and women's cross country teams at the Hampshire College Founding Tree on Saturday as Johnson placed in the top 10 setting a new personal best.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Johnson ran his second consecutive personal best at the 8-kilometer distance lowering his PR by more than 90 seconds to finish in seventh place out of 104 runners.
- Wilfried Ulrich Feukouo crossed the line in 38th place (32:13), while Logan Bradley was right on his heels in 40th (32:38). Matthew Pietryka also finished in the top 50 (33:55), while Justin Bormann rounded out the Canton scorers in 52nd (34:02).
- SUNY Canton finished in sixth place out of 12 teams with 152 points. Norwich won the team title with 46 points edging out Fitchburg State (53), while Paul Smith's was third (125).

- Jenna Leshkevich paced the Roo women for the first time this season covering the 6-kilometer course in a time of 34:17 to finish 45th out of 60 runners. Megan Cowles crossed the line one place later in a time of 34:38.
- Sydney Pelerin (55th), Tyler Schwedler (T-57th) and Sophia McKiernan (T-57th) rounded out the Canton runners.
- The Roos finished in eighth place out of eight teams with a team score of 192. Emerson won the team title with 28 points ahead of second place Norwich (64) and third place UMass Boston (77).

The Roos return to the trails on October 19th at the Cross Country Only Championships at Seneca Lake State Park. The women race at 11 a.m. followed by the men at 12 p.m. Â Â Â
