Canton, NY – For the third weekend to start the season
Kristian Johnson and
Megan Cowles led the SUNY Canton men's and women's cross country teams at the Hoffman Invitational at St. Lawrence on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kristian Johnson paced the Canton men clocking a personal best time of 30:03 over the 8-kilometer course. Wilfried Ulrich Feukouo was not far behind finishing in the top 100 of the 124 runner field in a time of 33:39.
- Logan Bradley (34:56), Matthew Pietryka (35:15) and Justin Bormann (35:32) rounded out the scoring runners for Canton.
- The Roos finished in eighth place out of 11 teams with 255 points defeating Word of Life (255), SUNY Potsdam (268) and Mohawk Valley Community College (307). Queen's University (24) edged Middlebury (35) for the team title.
- Ottawa Lions TF Club's Andre Alie-Lamarche won the individual title in a time of 25:10.
- Cowles led the Canton women once again finishing in 85th place out of 90 runners covering the 6-kilometer course in a time of 36:09. Jenna Leshkevich wasn't far behind crossing the line in 37:05.
- Sydney Pelerin, Sophia McKiernan and Tyler Schwedler rounded out the runners for Canton.
- Queen's (25) edged Middlebury (36) for the team title. The Roos finished in eighth place out of eight teams with 245 points. Middlebury's Audrey Maclean won the individual title in a time of 21:37.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos return to the trails next Saturday when they run at the Hampshire College Founding Tree. The women take off at 10 a.m. followed by the men at 11 a.m.
