Gwendolyn Glennon is in 14th place after the opening round of the two-day, 36-hole St. Lawrence Invitational at Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course.
The SUNY Canton men's and women's golf teams will tee it up for the final round on Sunday at 8 a.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED - MEN
- Hess recorded a round of 4-over par, 76. The senior finished his round with a pair of birdies and 12 pars. Szlamczynski is just two strokes behind Hess posting three birdies on his card to go with nine pars.
- Sam Martin, Gavin Neuland and John McCall all finished with rounds of 84 with Martin and Neuland posting a birdie each. Anthony Marion competed in his first event as a Roo playing individually finishing with a 91.
- The Roos are in third place out of nine teams with 322 strokes. St. Lawrence's 'A' team is first with a 303 and the SLU 'B' team sits second (312). St. Lawrence 'C' (324), Clarkson (326) and Oswego State (328) round out the top six teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED - WOMEN
- Glennon led the Canton women posting a round of 93 in her collegiate debut as she sits tied for 14th out of 26 golfers. She finished with a birdie and two pars on the round.
- Maddy Thompson carded a round of 118 , while Olivia Drino shot a 127 with two pars as both players made their debuts with the Roos. Sirena Alvarez rounded out the Canton competitors with a 128.
- SUNY Canton is in fifth place with 466 strokes. Ithaca (336) leads the team leaderboard for the women just ahead of SUNY Cortland (337). Utica (386) and Union (400) are in third and fourth places, respectively.

The Roos return to the course on Sunday when they tee it up at 8 a.m. for the final round of the St. Lawrence Invitational at Appleton Golf Course.
