Marion and Rumble Each in a Tie for 5th after Day 2 of St. John Fisher Spring Invitational

Victor, NY – Raine Rumble shot a round of 9-over par, 81 and Anthony Marion was one score behind, 82 with both competitors earning a score of 158 across two days in a tie for fifth overall  as the SUNY Canton men's golf team finished up the two-day St. John Fisher Spring Invitational at Cobblestone Creek Country Club on Monday.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
  • Rumble was 40 on the front nine and 41 on the back nine consisting of 10 pars, seven bogeys, and a double bogey for nine-over par on the day and a score of 158 across the two days of the invitational.
  • Marion was 40 on the front nine and 42 on the back nine, going for a birdie on hole three, seven pars, nine bogeys, and a double bogey, finished right alongside Rumble in a tie for fifth with 158 across the invitational.
  • Tyler Martin registered a round of 96 (46-50), and Mason Dumas and Owen Sacks rounded out the top five for SUNY Canton with scores of 99 (45-54) and 100 (50-50), respectively.
  • Kyle Murphy, competiting as an individual, shot a round of 96 (46-50) to finish with a total score of 188 across the two days.
  • The Roos finished in fourth place out of four teams in a strong field with a score of 693 (334-359). Nick Years from St. John Fisher and Jaxson Bingham finished at the top of the podium on day two, both shooting a round of four-over par, 76.

The Roos will return to action on Thursday, April 16 as they head downstate for the SUNY Delhi Spring Invitational with tee times beginning around 1:30 p.m.
