Delhi, NY – Anthony Marion put in a card of 3-over par, 75, to finish in a tie for 8
th-place, and the SUNY Canton men's golf team competed at the SUNY Delhi Spring Invitational as a part of a very competitive field on Thursday at the College Golf Course at Delhi.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marion was 36 on the front nine with three bogeys, a birdie, and an eagle on hole four, finishing with just two strokes on a 310-yard, par-four. On the back nine, he carded 39 with three bogeys.
- Raine Rumble had a nice day with 37 on the front nine and 40 on the back nine, consisting of a birdie, six bogeys, and 11 pars. His score of 5-over par, 77, put him in a tie for 12th across the field.
- Kahontiio Lazore carded a round of 81 (41-40) including four birdies as the third-best score for the Roos, and Mason Dumas at 84 (42-42), Sam Eells at 85 (43-42), and Tyler Martin at 86 (44-42) rounded out the SUNY Canton field.
- The Roos ended in fourth place in a tightly contested field with a team score of 317. Hosting SUNY Delhi led the pack with 293 while St. Lawrence was at 301, and right in front of SUNY Canton was Utica at 309.
- Jimmy King from St. Lawrence won the individual event shooting 3-under, 69. Max Dutcher of Delhi was also under par with a score of 71.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Roos will next compete at the Empire 8 Spring Championship in a two-day event this upcoming Sunday and Monday, April 19 and 20, at the Lebanon Country Club in Lebanon, PA.
