Lebanon, PA – Freshman
Raine Rumble fired the third lowest round of the day in the entire field with a 5-over par, 77, to finish alone in third place at the 2025-26 Empire 8 Men's Golf Championship at Lebanon Country Club on Monday.
The Roos finished the championship in a tie for fifth out of eight teams. The first two rounds were contested at Teugega Country Club on October 12 and 13, 2025. The third and fourth rounds took place at Lebanon Country Club on April 19 and 20, 2026.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rumble shot the third lowest round of the day (77) on Monday and the lowest 36-hole total of the spring portion of the Empire 8 championship (157) during the two days at Lebanon Country Club. On Monday he went out in 38 and came home in 39 as he finished with three birdies and two pars on the back nine along with seven pars on the front. With his top five individual finish (310, +26) he earned Empire 8 First Team All-Conference honors.
- After an impressive opening two rounds in the fall that saw him in third place after 36 holes, Kahontiio Lazore finished the four-round tournament with a score of 81 on Monday going out in 39 and coming home in 42. He carded a birdie and nine pars to tie for ninth place overall with a score of 317 (+33). That performance earned him Empire 8 Second Team All-Conference recognition.
- Anthony Marion registered a round of 79 (39-40) on Monday, tied for the fourth lowest score of the round, as he totaled two birdies and nine pars. His four-round score of 319 (+35) tied him for 11th individually, good for Empire 8 Third Team All-Conference honors.
- Sam Eels rounded out the Canton top four with a 90 on Monday for a four-round score of 337 to tie for 27th out of the 37 golfers who completed all four rounds. Mason Dumas (349 – 32nd) and Tyler Martin (359 – 33rd) both fired rounds of 91 in the final round.
- The Roos finished tied for fifth in the team standings with Oswego with 1276 strokes. St. John Fisher captured the 2025-26 Empire 8 Championship with 1241 strokes ahead of Russell Sage (1260). Nazareth was third (1263) and Utica was fourth (1272).
- Massena native Colin Patterson from St. John Fisher earned medalist honors with a four-round score of 305 edging out his teammate Nick Years (307). Rumble was just five strokes behind Patterson.
