Marion Shoots 1-Under 69, Leads NAC Championship Field after Day 1; Roos Second out of 11 Teams

69 is Lowest Known Round in Roos Golf History

Oakland, ME – Freshman Anthony Marion had an incredible round shooting 1-under par, 69, on Saturday in the opening round of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship at Waterville Country Club. The Roos are in second place out of the 11-team field after the first round of play.

The rookie, who shot the lowest score total of any SUNY Canton men's golf player in at least the last 12 years, leads the field by three strokes after 18 holes of the two-day, 36-hole championship. The 69 is also the lowest recorded score for a Roo as far back as records go.

The 1-under par is the third lowest round in relation to par in at least the last 12 years. Josh Marshall '22 and Zach Meade'15 both shot rounds of 2-under par 70. Marshall carded a 2-under 70 on September 14, 2021 at the Roos home invitational at Partridge Run Golf & Country Club. Meade shot 2-under par 70 on October 14, 2014 on the second day of the USCAA National Championship at the Penn State Blue Course on his way to winning the USCAA National Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
