Adam Szlamczynski tied for first place with a round of 6-over par, 76, and
Gwendolyn Glennon finished in second place with a 16-over-par, 88, as the SUNY Canton men's and women's golf teams competed at the SUNY Poly Invitational at Teugega Country Club on Tuesday.
The SUNY Canton men won the team title out of the six-team field.
HOW IT HAPPENED - MEN
- Szlamczynski led the SUNY Canton men for the fourth time in eight events this season. He tied Utica's Adam Woodmansee with a 76 after 18 holes of play. The duo would need a four-hole playoff to decide medalist honors as Woodmansee birdied the par 5 fourth hole to earn the distinction of medalist.
- Jake Hess finished third out of the 35 golfer field with a score of 77. John McCall posted a round of 82 good for eighth, Anthony Marion was tied for 11th with an 85, and Sam Martin finished 13th with an 86.
- The Roos won the team title with 320 strokes ahead of Utica University (328). SUNY Cobleskill was third with 350 strokes.

HOW IT HAPPENED - WOMEN
- Glennon posted a round of 88 to finish in second out of 14 golfers. SUNY Geneseo's Jillian Draper won medalist honors with a 10-over par, 82.
- Maddy Thompson was seventh for the Roos with a 98, while Olivia Drino was 13th with a 119.
- Geneseo won the team title as the lone women's team with four competitors posting a score of 377.

WHAT'S NEXT
The men's golf team returns to the links on Saturday when they open the first round of the North Atlantic Conference championship at Waterville Country Club at 9:30 a.m. The women are back in action on Sunday when they play in the opening round of the Nazareth Invitational at The Links at Greystone at 11 a.m.
