Canton, NY – Head Softball Coach
Quincy Lewis has announced the addition of
Jenna Rupakus to the coaching staff as she will serve as an assistant coach for the Roos.
Â
While at Canton she will work in all facets of the game on and off the field, but will focus on infielders and hitters.
Â
"I am beyond excited to welcome Jenna to our softball family here at Canton," Lewis said. "Jenna immediately separated herself from the candidate pool with not only her hunger for the game, but an equal passion for mentoring student-athletes. She will be a fantastic addition to our staff not only as a coach but as a role model and teacher. I cannot wait for her to join us on campus and begin making an impact on our program this August!"
Â
Rupakus comes to Canton following a stint as the associate coach at Broome Community College during the 2018-2019 year. While mentoring athletes in every facet of the game, Rupakus aided Broome to their first winning season and regional appearance in five years. She also mentored 6 MSAC All-Conference student-athletes, and six scholar athlete recipients. While at Broome, she also worked with youth athletes as an instructor for Pitch Perfect Academy out of Binghamton.
Â
"Choosing to continue my coaching career at SUNY Canton has been such a rewarding decision," Rupakus said. "When speaking to Coach Lewis about the future of this program, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I chose SUNY Canton because the leadership resembles everything I believe in as a coach. This organization not only wants to develop the best softball players but also the best individuals. I am excited to work alongside Coach Lewis, and the rest of the staff, to win our first North Atlantic Conference Championship."
Â
A native of New Milford, Pennsylvania, Rupakus played shortstop while completing her Bachelor's degree at Penn State Harrisburg in Finance. She also recently completed her graduate work at Alvernia University in Business Administration.
