Oneonta, NY – Madelin Marquart was 3-for-6 across two games in the final day of SUNY Canton's eight-game road trip as they fell in two games to the Oneonta Red Dragon Friday.
The Roos made a statement in game one by scoring the first run in the top of the first, but Oneonta scored 12 in the first two innings to jump ahead big and win game one 16-1. In game two, SUNY Canton's pitching and defense improved, but the hitting was not there in an 8-0 loss.

Ivy Ostrander drew a walk and then with one out Bridgette Fox was hit by a pitch to load the bases. The baserunners all moved up on a wild pitch as Marquart scored.
- The Red Dragons plated seven runs on six hits and an error in their at-bats in the bottom of the first before adding five runs on four hits and an error in the second.
- The hosts would tack on two more runs each in the third and fourth innings for the 16-1 run-rule win in five innings.
- Marquart had both hits for the Roos scoring the team's lone run, while Ostrander and Ace Rogers had sacrifices.
- Kayla Kean went 3-for-4 with two runs, a homer, two doubles and four RBI. Sophia Camacho also went 2-for-3 with three runs, two walks, a homer and three RBI. Oneonta had nine extra-base hits in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
- Marquart picked up a base hit to leadoff the first – her third on the day – but the Roos could not get her home in the frame.
- A couples walks and four hits led to three Oneonta runs as the Red Dragons were up 3-0 early on.
- The hosts kept on adding runs bit by bit, including one in the second, two in the third, and another in the fourth.
- Arianna Steele helped herself out on the mound with a single in the third, and then Molly Dowson got a base hit in the fourth, but no runs came from either of those baserunners.
- Steele had a nice fifth inning on the rubber, but a leadoff triple in the bottom of the sixth followed by another hit ended the game prematurely with the Red Dragons ahead 8-0 after six.
- Dowson, Marquart, and Steele each ended up with hits for the Roos. Steele notched five innings of work recording a pair of strikeouts.
