Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's soccer team will play an 18 game regular season schedule that includes 10 home games during the 2018 season. This will mark the team's first season competing in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC).
After pre-season exhibitions v. Finger Lakes Community College and Saint Michael's College, the team will open the season with two home matches v. Wells College and Bard College on August 31st and September 2nd.
The Roos travel up Route 11 to square off with SUNY Potsdam on September 5th. The team returns to its turf field for a three match home stand with contests v. SUNY Poly (9/8), Utica College (9/12) and its NAC opener v. Husson University (9/15).
SUNY Canton's other home games include bouts v. Clarkson University (9/19), Maine Maritime Academy (9/22), Paul Smith's College (9/26), Castleton (10/2) and Lyndon State College (10/13).
The Roos will also visit St. Lawrence University on October 9th.
The Roos will hope to qualify for their first NAC Tournament appearance in school history where the winner will earn the conference's automatic qualifier to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament.
"I am very pleased we will be able to continue our local rivalry matches with Potsdam and Clarkson, while also adding St. Lawrence to the schedule this season," Penrod said. "Our team has great excitement regarding our first season in the NAC this year and the opportunity to compete for a conference championship and an NCAA berth."
