Centerville, MA – Megan Mydosh (Warwick, NY) of the women's cross country team has been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Upstate Runner of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday evening.
The ECAC weekly honor is the first for any SUNY Canton student-athlete in any sport in school history.
Mydosh finished in third place out of the 137 runner field at the SUNYIT Wildcat Classic. She covered the 5-kilometer course in 20:13 (6:31 mile pace), her fastest career run at that distance, breaking her previous best by an impressive 18 seconds. Mydosh was just two seconds behind the race winner, her closest time to winning an invitational this season. The junior was crucial in leading her team to a seventh place finish out of the 17 team field.
The women's cross country team has this weekend off before returning to the trails Oct. 12th at the Hoffman Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence University.
