LaRose, Duester & Cowles Pace Cross Country at Cazenovia

Cazenovia, NY – Brogan LaRose and Ryan Duester both finished in the top 40, while Megan Cowles led the women as the cross country teams competed at the Cazenovia Invitational on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • LaRose covered the 8-kilometer course in a time of 35:29 finishing in 37th place out of 66 runners, while Ryan Duester followed closely behind in 38th place (35:33).
  • Kyle Stelter placed third for the Roos (35:53), while Matthew Pietryka (36:14) and Daniel Ryhal (37:51) were fourth and fifth for the team.
  • SUNY Canton placed sixth out of six teams with 151 points. SUNY Morrisville won the team title with 40 points edging out SUNY Poly.

  • Megan Cowles led the women finishing in 27th place out of 32 runners covering the 5-kilometer course in 28:40. Lailah Emad (28th) and Mary Townson (34:28) rounded out the Roo runners who competed as individuals.
  • Hartwick (42) edged Hudson Valley Community College (45) for the women's team title.

The Roos are off next weekend before competing at the Cross Country Only Championships hosted by Hobart & William Smith on Saturday October 15th.
