Snow and Bradley Lead Roos at Castleton Invitational

Canton, NY – Junior Lydia Snow and freshman Lance Bradley led each of their teams in the first event of the season for both the women's and men's cross country squads at Castleton University.  Snow led the women to a third-place finish while the men finished fourth.

HOW IT HAPPENED - WOMEN
  • Snow paced the Roos, finishing fourth overall with a time of 22:31 (7:15/mile) in the 5k race.  Isabella Paswaters (16th – 27:08), Mayella Rubin (17th – 28:37), Megan Cowles (22nd – 32:14) and Molly Isaacs (23rd – 35:14) rounded out the scoring for the women.
  • Canton placed third with 66 points. SUNY Cobleskill won the team title with 29 points followed closely by Norwich (36).

HOW IT HAPPENED - MEN 
  • Bradley covered the 8-kilometer course in 32:08 (6:28/mile) placing 14th out of 40 runners. Brogan LaRose and Matthew Pietryka were close behind, finishing 18th and 19th respectively with times of 33:47 (6:48) and 34:01 (6:51/mile).
  • Gage Perry (24th – 35:43) and Daniel Ryhal (28th – 36:18) rounded out the scoring racers for the Roos.
  • SUNY Canton finished in fourth place with 88 points. SUNY Cobleskill won the team title with a score of 30, while Norwich was second (25) and Castleton (78) was third.

WHAT'S NEXT
Both teams will travel to Randoph Center, VT for the Vermont Tech Maple Syrup Challenge, next Saturday at 11 a.m.
