Twelve Roos Named College Sports Communicators At-Large Academic All-District

Canton, NY – Twelve members of the SUNY Canton men's and women's hockey, lacrosse and men's golf teams have been named to the Academic All-District At-Large teams.

The all-district teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on their respective playing surfaces and in the classroom.

To be eligible for the honor student-athletes need to maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, have participated in at least 90 percent of their team's contests or started 66% of their team's matches. Individual based sports like golf and cross country have other criteria. Schools are limited on the number of selections they can have in various sports, including only six selections per gender in the at-large category (golf, hockey, lacrosse). Select Academic All-District honorees will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.

Asha Hanson, Danika Lalonde, Kyra O'Keefe, Jane Pancoe and Sydney Valiquette from the women's hockey team were recognized, while Scott Cremen, Cory Liu, Trey Miller and Evan Pringle from the men's hockey team were honored. Sydney Dunn and Hayden Todd from the women's and men's lacrosse teams earned accolades, while Anthony Marion from the men's golf team was recognized.

Hanson, a senior Applied Psychology major, earned the award for the female graduating student-athlete with the highest overall GPA entering her final semester at the Athletic department's end-of-year awards banquet. She also earned the school's highest GPA for a graduating international student. Hanson appeared in all 26 games at defense totaling seven assists and a +3 on-ice rating.

Lalonde, a senior Nursing major, led the Roos in points (20), assists (14), game-winning goals (3), power play goals (3) and plus-minus (+5). She scored the game-winners in a 5-0 home win against MCLA (11/8/25), a 1-0 road win at Oswego (1/30/26) and a 2-1 home win vs. William Smith (2/20/26).

O'Keefe, a senior Sports Management major and assistant captain, appeared in 25 games ranking tied for second on the team with seven goals, two of which were on the power play. She recorded the game-winning goal in a 3-0 win at Chatham on December 6.

Pancoe, a senior Nursing major and assistant captain, appeared in all 26 games registering 10 points on five goals and five assists with three power play tallies and a pair of game-winners. Her 21 blocks were the third most on the team. She scored back-to-back game-winning goals in a 4-1 win at Morrisville (2/7/26) and a 3-2 win vs. Potsdam (2/13/26).

Valiquette, a senior forensic criminology major and captain, appeared in all 26 games tallying nine assists and a +2 on-ice rating. The defender had 22 blocked shots, the second most on the team as she committed just one penalty all season.

Cremen, a senior Management major, led the Roos with 16 assists and added a pair of goals, both of which were game-winners. His first goal of the season came on the power play in a 2-1 win at Nazareth (11/7/25), while he also netted the game-winner in a 3-1 win at Plattsburgh (1/16/26). Cremen's 23 blocked shots ranked second on the team while he finished the year with a +1 on-ice rating.

Liu, a senior Information Technology major, appeared in 25 games recording seven points on a goal and six assists. He ranked third on the team with 22 blocked shots and had two assists in the Roos 4-1 win at No. 4 nationally-ranked Oswego (1/31/26), the Roos first ever win vs. the Lakers, and second-highest ranked win in program history.

Miller, a junior Health & Fitness Promotion major, had a historic season in between the pipes as he set a number of D-III-era single-season records, including a .934 save %, a 2.29 goals-against-average, and 577 total saves. His save % was second in the SUNYAC and total saves were third in the conference. Through three seasons, the Columbus, Ohio native is currently at the top of the SUNY Canton men's hockey podium in career save % (.924), goals-against-average (2.67), and win % (.547, 17-14-1). A two-time SUNYAC Goaltender of the Week (1/20, 2/23), Miller was at the center of many key wins for the Roos this season. The third year made 42 saves and allowed just one goal in a 2-1 road victory at Nazareth on November 25 to push the Roos to 3-0-0 on the young season. In conference play, Miller played all 60 minutes in SUNY Canton's 4-1 win at then-No. 4 Oswego on January 31, turning aside 35-of-36 shots (.972 save percentage) in what was the second-highest ranked win in program history. He stopped all 14 shots he faced in the third period of that game as Canton scored two empty-netters in the final minute for the three goal win. Miller then recorded his first shutout of the season at Buffalo State on February 13 with a 36-save-performance which was the third-most saves in a shutout by a SUNY Canton goalie in the D-III-era. On Senior Day and the final regular season game of the season, the 6-1 netminder saved 35 shots in a 2-1 win, eclipsing 1,000 career saves in the game. His career save number sits at 1,053 which is fifth all-time as he looks to chase the program record of 1,357 (Michael Cerasuolo '20) next season.

Pringle, a senior Sports Management major, ranked second on the team with 10 goals and third with 21 points while tying for third with three power play goals. He scored the eventual game-winning goal in a 5-1 win against Misericordia (11/2/25) and ranked fourth on the team with 21 blocked shots.

Dunn, a junior Veterinary Technology major, ranked second on the women's lacrosse team with 23 goals and third with 28 points while adding 21 draw controls, 15 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.

Todd, a senior Health & Fitness Promotion major, started all 11 games for the Roos recording both team wins, 130 saves and a .489 save %. He finishes his career with a program record 676 career saves as well as the single-game saves record with 35 (4/12/25).

Marion, a senior Sports Management major, was named Empire 8 Third Team All-Conference after finishing tied for 11th out of 37 golfers at the four-round E8 championship with two rounds each in the fall and spring semesters. Marion was also named to the Empire 8 Spring 2026 President's List. He finished the 2025-26 season with a 78.3 scoring average over 23 total rounds with one win and five top three finishes according to his Scoreboard profile page. His win came at the two-day Nazareth Fall Invitational where he shot rounds of 72 (E) and 74 (+2) to best the field of 33 golfers. He also finished runner-up at the SUNY Canton Invitational (9/18/25) and the SUNY Delhi Bronco Fall Invitational (8/30/25).
