Oswego, NY – Raine Rumble carded a round of 5-over-par, 76, to lead the SUNY Canton men's golf team in the opening round of the Oswego State Spring Invitational at Oswego Country Club on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rumble started his strong round with back-to-back birdies on the 532-yard par 5 first and the 183-yard par 3 second. He also had four pars and three bogeys on the front nine to shoot one-over, 36. The rookie pared his first five holes on the back nine before finishing his round with four straight bogeys for a 40 on the back and 76 overall. Rumble is tied for eighth place out of 47 golfers after the opening round.
- Anthony Marion is tied for 13th after registering an opening round 78. He tallied four pars and five bogeys for a 40 on the front before a birdie, five pars and three bogeys on the back nine (38).
- Tyler Martin is tied for 38th after shooting an 86 (42-44) as he recorded six pars, nine bogeys and three doubles on his round.
- Mason Dumas rounded out the Canton competitors with a 91 (46-45). He finished with a birdie, two pars, nine bogeys and six doubles.
- Canton sits in seventh place out of eight teams with 331 strokes. Delhi's A team is tied with Oswego's A team for first with 304 strokes just ahead of Russell Sage (306).
- Nazareth's Charlie Calcagni leads the individual field shooting even par, 71, just one stroke ahead of Oswego's Sam Ligas.
