Plattsburgh, NY – SUNY Canton scored four unanswered goals in the final five minutes of the first half to earn a 10-7 SUNYAC road win at Plattsburgh State on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kate Whitley and LaShomb got the scoring started with back-to-back goals in the first five minutes of the game.
- The Cardinals responded with a pair of goals, one coming with the player advantage.
- Nappi recorded her second assist of the quarter finding Dunn for her eighth goal of the season before LaShomb scored her second of the day to give the Roos a 4-2 lead. The Cardinals netted a late goal to get within 4-3 after 15 minutes of action.
- Plattsburgh scored the first two goals of the second stanza before four unanswered tallies from Canton over the final 4:48 of the half. Dunn scored twice in the run, while Nappi scored a woman-up goal and LaShomb a woman-down goal as Ava Bodnar registered a pair of assists. Canton led 8-5 at intermission.
- Cynthia Barnosky's free-position goal for Plattsburgh proved to be the lone goal as the two defenses showed their strength in the third quarter.
- Nappi scored a pair of goals, one with a player advantage, to start the fourth quarter building a four-goal lead as the Canton defense held Plattsburgh to just one free position goal in the final frame en route to the 10-7 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Canton controlled shots (35-18), shots on goal (25-12), ground balls (26-18) and draw controls (13-6). The Roos were 17-for-21 on clears, while Plattsburgh was 18-for-22 despite turning the ball over 24 times compared to just 16 for the Roos.
- The Canton defense held the Cardinals to just two goals in the second half allowing just four shots on goal including none in the third quarter.
- Nappi paced the Roos with five points on three goals and two assists, while Dunn and LaShomb scored three each. Ava Bodnar dished out a game-best three assists. Aldous was a force defensively with game-highs of five ground balls and three caused turnovers while adding four draw controls. Karlie Craft tied a game-best with five ground balls and LaShomb picked up a game-high five draws.
- Leah Klotz led Plattsburgh with two goals and one assist, while Barnosky and Brooke Terry scored twice each.
- Laura Falandys made five saves in the win.
- Lauren Piscazzi turned aside five shots allowing eight goals in the first half in the loss for the Cardinals, while Aimee Lieman made 10 saves allowing two goals in the second half.
