Canton, NY – Gwendolyn Glennon, a senior on the women's golf team, and
Lindsey Wunder, a senior on the women's lacrosse team, have been named this week's Roos of the Week.
Glennon recorded a 27-hole score of 135 to finish in a tie for 12th place out of 52 golfers at the Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) Championship on Saturday and Sunday at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course. Glennon was tied for 16th place after the opening round with a nine-hole score of 45, recording a par and six bogeys on Saturday's round. On Sunday she went out in 42 and came home in 48 to card a round of 90. She tallied four pars and a birdie on her 18-hole round. Glennon earned the Elite Academic Award for the second consecutive year, which is awarded to the student-athlete with the highest GPA who is competing in the NWGC Championship.Â
Wunder had a hand in five of the Roos six goals scoring twice and adding three assists to go with two ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control in a 21-6 loss at Cortland on Wednesday in Canton's lone game of the week as they wrapped up their season. Wunder finishes the season first on the team in assists (35), second in points (62) and second in goals (27). Her 35 assists also rank fifth in the SUNYAC.
