Glennon Leads Women’s Golf at Martin/Wallace Invitational

Cortland, NY – Gwendolyn Glennon led the SUNY Canton women's golf team firing a two-day total of 181 (87-94) at the two-day Martin/Wallace Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Cortland Country Club.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Glennon shot a round of 15-over par, 87 on Saturday going out in 44 before coming home in 43. She recorded six pars in the opening round and sat in 17th place after 18 holes.
  • On Sunday Glennon recorded a round of 94 shooting 47 on both the front and back. She tallied a pair of birdies on two different par 3's and added a par. With her two-day total of 181 she finished in a tie for 20th place out of 51 golfers.
  • Raven Murphy also competed for the Roos registering a two-day total of 250 (136-114) as she improved by 22 strokes on Sunday. Her best nine of the weekend was her final nine when she carded a 53. Murphy finished in a tie for 45th place.
  • Ithaca won the team title with 634 strokes (332-302) edging out Union's 654 (330-324). The Roos only had two golfers and didn't qualify for a team score. Ithaca's Rheanna DeCrow won medalist honors with a 152 (80-72) ahead of Union's Iyene Essien's 153 (78-75).
