Kahontiio Lazore tied for fifth to lead the SUNY Canton women's and men's golf teams at the SUNY Poly Invitational at Kanon Valley Country Club on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED - WOMEN
- Glennon posted a round of 84 just three strokes off her career low 18-hole round to best the 11 golfer field by three strokes on Friday. This marks her first win of the season and first since claiming medalist honors at the Keuka College Spring Invitational on April 9, 2024.
- Maddy Thompson posted a score of 97 to place seventh individually, while Raven Murphy was just one stroke off tying her career low round from yesterday as she finished with a 108.
- Utica was the lone team with four golfers finishing with a team score of 380. The Roos, SUNY Cobleskill and Russell Sage had players compete as individuals.

HOW IT HAPPENED - MEN
- Lazore led the Roos for the second straight event posting a round of 6-over par, 78 to tie for fifth out of 39 golfers. Kyle Murphy had an impressive round of 80 to finish in a tie for eighth.
- John McCall tied for 11th with an 83, Ben Wiley posted an 87 (T-18) and Tyler Martin rounded out the Canton contingent with a score of 100.
- Utica's Adam Woodmansee earned medalist honors as he won the first playoff hole after tying for first with SUNY Cobleskill's Josh House.
- Utica won the team title ahead with 312 strokes edging out Russell Sage (315) and SUNY Canton (328) in the seven team field.

WHAT'S NEXT
The men's golf team is back in action on Wednesday when they take part in a dual match against Utica University at Yahnundasis Golf Club at 2 p.m. The women tee it up again on Saturday, October 5th for the first round of the Hamilton College Invitational at Rome Country Club at 1 p.m.
