Glennon Finishes 17th at NWGC Championship, Earns Elite Academic Award

Rexford, NY – Gwendolyn Glennon finished in 17th place at the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championship shooting a round of 95 on Sunday at The Edison Club.

Glennon earned the Elite Academic Award which is awarded to the student-athlete with the highest GPA who is competing in the NWGC Championship. She shared the honor with Westfield State's Katie Egan as the duo both carry cumulative 4.0 GPA's.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Glennon finished 17th out of the 54 golfer field with a two-day total of 187 strokes (92-95). She went out in 51 on Sunday but bounced back nicely on the back nine with a 44. She finished with four pars on her round.
  • Olivia Drino finished in 48th place as she improved by 17 strokes from Saturday to Sunday for a two-day total of 259 (138-121).
  • Raven Murphy rounded out the Canton competitors with a 266 (127-139) to place 51st.
  • Suffolk's Ellie Yarbrough won medalist honors with a two-day total of 152 (78-74) just ahead of St. John Fisher's Alex Tomasso's 155 (78-77).
  • Suffolk won the team title with 648 strokes (333-315) edging out second place SUNY Cortland who finished with 658 strokes (337-321). SUNY Canton played as individuals as four scores are needed for a team score.
