Cross Country Teams Close out Season at NCAA Mideast Regionals

Waterford, CT – Kristian Johnson and Jenna Leshkevich led the men's and women's cross country teams at the NCAA Mideast Regionals on Saturday at Harkness Memorial Park.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
  • Johnson covered the 8-kilometer course in a time of 29:29 placing 135th out of 172 runners. Logan Bradley (31:43), Wilfried Ulrich Feukouo (32:06), Matthew Pietryka (32:07) and Wyatt Beers (38:22) rounded out the scoring runners for Canton.
  • The Roos finished in 22nd place out of 24 teams with a score of 736 defeating Salve Regina (740) and Castleton (751).
  • RPI won the team event with 29 points ahead of Williams (76) and Middlebury (118). Roger Williams' Nathan Tassey won the individual event in a time of 24:03.

  • Jenna Leshkevich was the lone Canton female runner to finish posting a time of 32:52 over the 6-kilometer course to finish in 179th place.
  • Williams won the team title with 59 points, while RPI and Amherst tied for second with 110 points. RPI's Jules Bleskoski bested a field of 179 runners in a time of 20:47.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos close out the season on Saturday, November 16th when they race at the NCAA Mideast Regionals at Harkness Memorial Park in Waterford, CT hosted by Connecticut College. The women race at 11 a.m. followed by the men at 12 p.m.
