Canton, NY – Head Coach
Adam Todd and the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team have released their 2023 schedule, which marks the team's fifth season in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC).
The Roos schedule features 16 total contests with five home games and six conference contests as Canton looks to defend its NAC championship from a season ago.
SUNY Canton opens the regular season on March 4th when they host Oswego State. The team will play its next four on the road, two of which feature trips to fellow North Country schools Clarkson (3/7) and Plattsburgh State (3/11). During its spring break week, the Roos will visit both Arcadia (3/16) and Kean (3/18).
The Roos return home following spring break to host Hartwick on March 22nd. The team then faces a gauntlet stretch as it is on the road for its next seven contests.
After a non-league game at Keuka (3/25), the team opens NAC play at SUNY Poly (4/1) to kick off the month of April. Another non-conference game at Medaille (4/4) is followed by NAC road games at NVU-Lyndon (4/8), Husson (4/15) and Maine Maritime (4/16). Canton makes the short trip up Route 11 to square off with SUNY Potsdam on April 19th, the team's final road tilt of the year.
After the road heavy schedule, the team finishes with its final four games of the regular season on the friendly confines of SUNY Canton's turf field. The team will have its final non-conference tilt v. Utica at home on April 26th before concluding the regular season with league games hosting Thomas (4/29) and Maine Farmington (4/30).
The Roos will look to earn their third NAC championship in program history. SUNY Canton has won two of the three titles that have been contested since their first season in the conference in 2019 (there was no championship held in 2020).
The NAC semifinal is scheduled for May 6th with the NAC championship the following day, both of which are hosted by the No. 1 seed. The winner will earn the NAC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
