Canton, NY – Verity Lewis, a junior on the women's hockey team, and
Katlynn Allen, a senior on the women's cross country team, have been named this week's Roos of the Week.
Lewis had a monster opening weekend posting nine points on four goals and five assists leading the Roos to a 2-0 unbeaten start to the season. She opened the weekend with a third period goal in a 4-0 road win at King's College. The Sandhurst, England native followed that up with three goals and five assists having a hand in over half of Canton's scores in a 14-1 win v. the Monarchs. She leads the team with nine points, three more than her nearest teammate, and is tied for the team-high with a +7 on-ice rating.
Allen raced to a seventh place finish out of the 69-runner field at the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship on Saturday, which was hosted by Thomas College. The senior covered the 5-kilometer course in a time of 23:55. As a result of her top seven finish Allen was named NAC First Team All-Conference.
