Canton, NY – A trio of seniors found the back of the net on a day the SUNY Canton women's hockey team celebrated their seniors on Saturday afternoon.
Jane Pancoe,
Ashten Morris and
Danika Lalonde capped their regular season careers with a goal and helped their team to a 3-3 tie against Buffalo State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals got on the board first with Dakota Carlson knocking home a shot from the slot to put her team up 1-0 at 8:53 of the first period.
- A Pancoe slapper from the top of the circle evened the game for the Roos at 16:23 of the first. The goal was assisted by Valiquette and junior goaltender Molly Lenihan.
- Morris gave the Roos a 2-1 lead, finishing a beautiful pass from Riley Andzel at 3:09 of the second.
- Vanessa Willick tied the game, 2-2, scoring a power play goal for Buffalo State just three minutes later.
- Canton regained a 3-2 lead at 10:31 of the second period when Lalonde tipped a shot from Anna Pavlasova in front of the crease, past Alexa Todd and into the net.
- The game would remain in the Roos favor until late in the third period. With Todd pulled in favor of the extra attacker, the Bengals created a number of opportunities and as the clock continued to drain. With two seconds remaining, Arissa Vettraino gathered the puck and snapped a shot off the far post and into the net just prior to the sound of the horn to tie the game 3-3 and send the game into overtime.
- Neither team was able to score in the overtime and Buffalo State won the shootout 3-2.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Pancoe scored in her 100th career game as a Roo.
- Lalonde's goal and assist extended her lead on the team with 19 points on the season.
- Canton was 1/4 on the power play and killed three of four opportunities with their penalty kill.
- Buffalo State had a slight edge at the faceoff dot (29-25). Morris led the Roos with eight draws.
- In addition to earning her first career assist, Lenihan finished the game with 30 saves. Todd made 29 for the Bengals.
After the game, the Roos recognized their seven seniors including Pancoe, Morris, Lalonde,
Lucy Beal,
Asha Hanson,
Sydney Valiquette and
Kyra O'Keefe in a post-game ceremony.
