Sierra Halstead is a senior defender on the women's lacrosse team. This piece is part of a series of Q & A's with senior spring student-athletes who saw their senior seasons cut short due to COVID-19.
 
Q: Why did you choose SUNY Canton?
A: The main reason I chose SUNY Canton was because of how hands on the coursework is. I also chose Canton because I knew I would be able to balance my academics and sports.
 
Q: Favorite professor and why?
A: My favorite professor was Susan Buckley. I not only learned so much from her in the classroom but also through my many advising appointments with her. She has always been there when I had any doubts for myself or my future plans, as well as to help keep me on track.
 
Q: Favorite memory involving your sport at Canton?
A: I feel obligated to say winning the NAC Championship and going to the NCAA's because that was definitely a great time, but my all-time favorite would have to be when we beat Potsdam on Friday the 13th my freshman year.
 
Q: Favorite Non-Sports Memory?
A: Exploring all the outdoor activities available around the Canton area.
 
 
Q: What will you miss most about SUNY Canton?
A: Being able to spend so much time with the friends I have made here, especially through playing lacrosse.
 
Q: Degree you will be graduating with?
A: After completing an internship this coming Fall 2020 semester I will graduate in December with a Bachelor of Technology in Criminal Investigations along with minors in Forensics and Criminology.
 
 
Q: Future career/life plans?
A: I would like to work as a crime scene investigator for a large organization or city.
