Rotach Makes 10 Saves as Women’s Soccer Suffers Road Loss at Alfred State

Alfred, NY – Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) continued her solid play stopping 10 shots but it was not enough as the SUNY Canton women's soccer team fell, 4-0, Sunday afternoon on the road. The win improves the Pioneers to 3-1, while the loss drops the Kangaroos to 3-2.

The hosts got on the board in the 13th minute when Kali Muhleisen tallied the first of what would be three goals for her on the day. Ally Vargeson recorded an assist on the play. Muhleisen found the back of the net again in the 19th minute as Alfred State took a 2-0 lead into intermission. Rotach stopped six shots in the opening 45 minutes to keep the Roos within striking distance.

Taylor Reisdorf netted an insurance goal in the opening 10 minutes of the second half for the Pioneers and Muhleisen would later tally her third score of the contest for the 4-0 final. Karley Cree (Hogansburg, NY) led the Roos with two shots on goal in the contest.

Rotach stopped a career-best 10 shots for the Roos, while Krista DeCarlo made three saves for Alfred State. The SUNY Canton women's soccer team continues its road trip Wednesday when it travels to Clinton, NY to take on Hamilton College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
