Rotach Makes Seven Saves but Roos Fall 4-1 at D’Youville

Buffalo, NY – Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) stopped a career-high seven shots but it wasn't enough as the SUNY Canton women's soccer team fell 4-1 on the road Saturday night to host D'Youville College. The Roos fall to 3-1, while the Spartans improve to 3-1.
 
D'Youville started the scoring in the seventh minute when Danielle Gehen took a pass from Kayla Hartnett and found the back of the net. Gehen would tally another mark in the 32nd minute as the Spartans took a 2-0 lead into intermission.
 
Out of halftime the Roos picked up the intensity but it wasn't enough as D'Youville tallied their third score of the game at the 48:05 mark. The Roos would eventually get on the board when Nikki Holmes (Ogdensburg, NY) recorded her second score of the young season to get SUNY Canton within 3-1. The Spartans added a late score in what would eventually end in a 4-1 final.
 
Rotach stopped a career-best seven shots for SUNY Canton, while Christina Ventresca made three saves for D'Youville.
 
The SUNY Canton women's soccer team returns to the pitch Sunday when they take on Alfred State College beginning at 12:00 p.m.
