(Amherst, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's soccer team lost to SUNY ESF 2-1 in the second round of the Daemen College Tournament in Amherst, N.Y. The Roos dropped to 0-2 on the year.
The game was evenly played as both teams generated 14 shots and had one corner kick apiece.
SUNY ESF jumped out ahead in the 21st minute off a goal from Colin Hoffman.
Sophomore forward
Chris Cumella (Webster, N.Y.) tied the game in the 66th minute when he scored off a direct kick following a yellow card issed to a SUNY ESF player.
That score would hold until the 73rd minute before SUNY ESF's Wyatt Jacobi notched the game-winning goal.
Homero Flores (Mexico) had four saves for the Roos and Mike Schriver turned aside eight shots for SUNY ESF.
