Hartford, Conn. – Junior libero/defensive specialist Rylan Walker led all players on the court with 11 digs as the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team fell to Trinity College. Walker added two aces and a kill in the team's effort against the Bantams.

Despite the loss, SUNY Canton still holds the top record in the SUNYAC East division at 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Roos kept pace with the Bantams at the start of the first set, trailing just 10-8 to begin the match.
• Trinity went on a run shortly after, scoring eight of the next nine points to pull away from Canton. Back-to-back aces from Madalena Balisciano gave the Roos a fighting chance before Trinity eventually claimed set one.
• Kills from Clara Bond, Abby Raven and Emerson Coulter kicked off the second stanza as the Roos faced a tight 7-5 deficit. The Bantams responded with a 7-1 run to extend their lead. An ace from Walker and kills from Coulter and Bond shortly after eased Canton's deficit in the late stages of the second frame before Trinity pulled away once more.
• Facing an uphill battle amid a 17-7 deficit, back-to-back aces from Viv Sieja sparked a late comeback attempt in the final set which ultimately fell short.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Seven Roos recorded multiple kills in the match, with Sieja, Raven and Bond tallying four each. Coulter added three, while team captain McKenna Pelech, Ava Buggs-Morehouse and Madison Bigelow posted two.
• Freshman setter Kaelyn Boliver led the Roos with 11 assists. She has led or tied for the team-lead in assists in every game this season.
• Two Roos totaled multiple service aces, with Balisciano and Walker each posting a pair.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos will take a trip to VTSU Johnson on Saturday, September 12 for a doubleheader. The first game is set to begin at noon.
